The Spaces In Between

Dates:
January 20, 2012 - 9:00am - March 11, 2012 - 9:00pm

WATERLOO ONT – UpTown Gallery in Waterloo Town Square is pleased to announce its next exhibition The Spaces In Between to open Friday January 20, 2012.

The exhibition features artwork by five Waterloo Region and area artists as they explore how things are defined by the space between them. How does the size of this, relate to the size of that? How does the poverty of one home relate to the economic success of a country?

Opening Reception is Friday January 27 at 6:30 to 8:30 pm, with artists in attendance.
Exhibition continues until Sunday March 11, 2012.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Josh Doubleday tells the story of the rural people of China in his paintings and drawings. His abstract soapstone sculptures are inspired by nature. He lived in China for the last three years.

Christine Gagnon explores the minutia of plant cell structures in her precious metal jewelry.

William Mullin studies the impact of negative space on composition in his oil paintings of street scenes in Greece and his garden plants in Stratford.

Nicole Waddick creates paintings and ceramic sculptures inspired by structures found in nature. She completed an artist residency in ceramics at Medalta in Alberta in July 2011.

Glenn Ward crafts limited edition furniture. His Bathos table series has a unique design that can be custom-made in any size to integrate into a myriad of environments.
